PRIVATE PATIENTS.
:<TRSES' RATING. At yesterday's meeting of the North Canterbury Hospital Board, a letter was received from the secretary of the Xew Zealand Trained Nurses' Association. who,said that at tlie'annual moetj„<r 'of tliV execntive of the Association the following resolution was passed:— "That in view of the possibility, of private patient? being' accommodated in nrivate wards at public hospitals, the New Zealand Trained Nurses' Association recommends that registered nurses oi;!v must be employed for actual nursing* duties to those patients. The Association does not consider it desirabk that mipil nurses should he employed to nurse patients, paving private bos pital fees." ■ "I-object to this-letter,'' sa.nl the chairman, Mr H. J. Otley. "['.want to see the same treatment given to ilie poorest person as to the richest, and vice versa. 1 move that this letter be received." The motion was carried.
