NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
The two wooden structures used as part of the former Richmond school -will be offered for sale on behalf of the Education Board, at 10 a.m. to-day, on the premises, Stanmore road, Richmond. Messrs W.- E. Simes and Co. conduct the sale. The flower show and fete in connexion with St. David's Presbyterian Church, is being held on Saturday next, afternoon and evening. The Industrial Association suggests that all Manufacturers should observe a compie'.e cessation of work to-morrow morning frcin 11 o'clock to 11.5. A memorial service for Queen Alexandra will bo held in the Christchurch Cathedral at. 11 a.m. to-morrow. An overflow service will be held at St. Luke's. A jumble sale will be he!d in St. Andrew's schoolroom on Ssturdcv, at 2 p.m. All interested in the Girl Guide movement are invited to attend the Guide. Officers' camp at Cashmere Paddock, Bradbury's Garden?, on Saturday afternoon to meet Lady Marjorie Dalrymple. A demonstration on "Different Methods of Queen Bearing" will bo given by Mr G. H. Sargent at Mr Ke«n's apiary, Tombs read, Papanui street, Styx, on Saturday atternoon. A jumble sale will be held in. the Marist Bros.' schoolroom to-morro*- at 7.30 p.m. A jumble sale will be held in St. Saviour's schoolroom, Sydenham, on Saturday afternoon in aid of the Sctnerfieltl school picnic fund. A garden fete will "be held in the vicarage grounds, of St. Peter's, Upper Riccarton, on Saturday, at 2.30 i>.m. The Canterbury Retail Dra.pers', Mercers', Clothiers' and Boot Retailers' Association has authorised shops to be closed between 11 a.m. and noon to-morrow. The reception to the grandmaster of the Ashley District M.U., 1.0.0. F., hae been postponed indefinitely. The conversazione arranged by the Manchester Unity Oddfellows of the Xcrth Canterbury district, will not take place on Saturday. A concert in aid of St. Saviour's orphanages will be held in the Caledonian Hall to-night.
