ELLALINE TERRISS.

(FBOJC OUK' OWN' CORRESPONDENT.) LONDON, October 23. Seymour Hicks is busy with rehearsals for the revival, of "The Man in Dress Clothes" at the Lyceum. The chief point of interest in this revival will be the reappearance on the London stage of Ellaline Terriss after an absence of seven years. She was last seen in a revival of "Bluebell in Fairyland," in 1918, at the Prince's. She will play the part of the wife of the Comte d'Artois.'" This part was played in the original production at the Garrick by Barbara Hoffe, and on her sudden illness in Australia Mrs Hicks came to the rescuo at a few hours' notice, and (says the "Evening; Standard") "by dint of having the woids pinned up all oyor the stage in pieces of furniture," scored an amazing success. This, device will not be necessary at the Lyceum. It is difficult to reconcile the - eternally vouthful appearance of Ellaline Terriss with "the fact that she was seen at this theatre—Henry Irving's theatre, that is to say, of which the outer Bhell still remains—as long 1 ago as 1*39 in a 'Cinderella' pantomime produced by Oscar' Barrett, the father of the Oscar Barrett who now manages tho Queen's Theatre."
