THE PILGRIMS.
' EXECUTIVE MEETING. The executive of the Canterbury Pilgrims' Association met yesterday afternoon, in the City Council Chambers. In the absence of Mr J. A. Flesher, Mr A. D. Dobson presided. There ™cre present also: The Rev. F. G. Rrittan. Messrs T. T. Morrison, J. T.. Smith, C. Hastings Bridge. E. 11. \\ebb, J. 0. Jameson, and J. R. Cuningham. The City Council advised that the Association had been seamed tho use of the City Council Chamber for its annual general meeting. Messrs Cuningham and Jameson were, empowered to go into the question of providing tea in the Domain after the Pilgrims' procession on December 12th, to report to the next meeting. Mr Jameson reported that certain ladies had authorised him to state that ttcy would provide tie luncheon f°{L pioneers before the procession. This generous offer was approved with appreciation. Education Committee. A meeting of the Education Sub-com-mittee of the Executive in charge of the arrangements for the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the foundation of Canterbury was held in the Citv Council Chambers last night, Mr W. W. IJowntree presiding. It was decided to write to Canon W. S. Bean, asking if he would give the address to the children on Sunday morning, December 13th, at the service to le held at King Edward Barracks, and also to write to the Christchurch Technical College asking if an exhibit of the work of the students could be arranged. It was agreed that' the Tramway Board should bo asked to charge week-day fares for children on the Sunday when the children's service will be held. It was reported that the Headmasters' Association did not approve of cLildren taking part in the procession, but that they could view the procession from the pavement, under the charge of the teachers.
The meeting agreed with this view, and it was stated that the children would receive more education from seeing the procession than actually taking part in it.
