But as regard circumference it will be some considerable time yet before it can rank among the largest in the world. The celebrated "Great Oak - in Holly Wood,' England; 'has a girth of M feef; 8 inches, measured five., feet from tho ground. The trunk, however, is only some twelve to fifteen feet hi"h, but this is peculiar to pedunculate oaks. It is said to be 800 years old, and is-not quoted as being the largest oak tree in England Yours etc., ' R, V- BARKER. Geraldine, November 23rd.
