OVERCOME BY FUMES.
INQUEST ON SHIP'S OFFICER. (by cable—press association—coptsight.) (AUSTBALIAN. AND N.Z. ASSOCIATION.) LONDON, October 28. The inquest opened at Teignmouth on Chief Officer Rees, mate of the steamship Orolna, who was asphyxiated by gas from a cargo of apples. itees removed a hatch and' was overcome by the fumes, and fell down the hold. An engineer who went to his help was also overcome. The enquiry was adjourned for scientific purposes.
