ENGLISH PARK STADIUM.

* —, . TO-MORROW NIGHT'S PROGRAMME. The Management of the English Park Stadium has introduced somo novel items into the programme for to-morrow night. In addition to the usual cycling and running evtnts a series of whippet races will be held. The dogs which compete in these races are very fast, and are credited with running one hundred yards under seven seconds. To-morrow night twelve dogs will compete in the Trial Stakes' Handicap of 100 yards. The race will be decided in three heats and a final. A team of four picked dogs will contest the 100 Yards Hurdle Handicap. Mr J. R. D. Johns, who has recently returned from Australia, where this class of sport; has a strong hold, has brought to New Zealand the best dogs available in the Commonwealth, and some firstclass contests should be witnessed. The dogs will race iu colours and the races can be readily followed throughout. A pony bucking competition has also been introduced, and there is to be a class for boys under 16 years, and another for boys over 16 years.

The cycle Tacing will also prove very interesting and exciting, as the riders are now a' tho top of their form. The entrants inclndc Phil O'Sbea, Cjril Sowden, Charlie Bell, Jack Henderson, Lddie Marra, and other prominent riders. The winner of the Ashburton Wheel Race, H. \Y. Cant, will also V* among 'ic contestants. Several riders will compete in the 1* mile scratch race, and have been training solidly in order to lower the colours of the champion. Dcrry's Military Band will be in attendance.
