Acceptances for the Auckland Racing Club's Spring Meeting audi final payments for the Great Northern Guillens and Velcome Stakes arc clue at •j p.m. to-morrow. Star Ranger was scratched for the New Zealand Cup at 10.00 a.m. yesterday. Tanadees and The Tank are due at Ricearton to-day. It is understood that H. Goldfinch will he relieved of his engagement with Mr H. Friedlander m older that he may c-nnie south to ride Taiiiidoes in the New Zealand Cup. T. [.lord and Y. Tilley arc also due at Rici-arlou to-day with their teams for the New Zealand Cup Meeting. Aid K:i (IJnird) schooled well over live hurdles' at Ricearton yesterday morning.

Sunny Cold, a winner at the recent j meeting at Riverton is hooked to take part in hack races at the C..1.C. Metropolitan Meeting next month. Sweet Melody Mil! accompany h'm north. To Monanui is 10.->kod upon as a certain starter for the Mitehelson Cup. The Potoa lioive was prominent at the finish of the Wellington Handicap, the only race in which he started at the meeting i>i Treniham last week, hut he will have to show some imnrovoment on that form if he is to heat Musketonn or Star Ranger in the big race at the Ellcrelie Spring Meeting. As The Hawk has not gone along satisfactorily since being cut about in the Craven Plato, the Martian gelding is not likely to fill any of his V.R.C. Spring engagements, says the Sydney '•'Sportsman." The injnries to his hind 'k\%a have yielded to treatment, hut one of his hoofs had to be pared down to such nu extent that, even with special shoes, he cannot put his leg down to tho ground in comfort. Cameron cannot work his idol, and it is his intention to return to New Zealand shortly, and allow The Hawk to run in some of the big Dominion weight-for-age cjvents.

Te Kara arrived at Riccai'ton yesterday with his stabiemato John Dix. Being the first of the visiting Now Zealand Cup horses to arrive might be a good omen for his prospects in the race, and his form at Trentham certainly entitles him to every respect, even though he will be attempting a task from a weight-carrying point of view that past history decides against. H. Cutis with Scotch "Wit, Rivalry, and Serotina, W. Hobbs with Bachelor, R. Alexander with Philandlerer, and J. A. White with Heal Glad, Jolly (Had, and All Style, returned to the south from- Trontliiam yesterday.

Accommodation for seven of J. H. Jefferd's team has been booked at Riccarton for the Cup Meeting. The number may bo reduced, but Rapine, Joy King, Mimetic, and Star Stranger are almpst certain to make the trip.

TROTTING NOTES. j Acceptances for the. Metropolitan T.C.'s Spring Meeting close on Tuesday at noon. Yesterday was an off day at Addington, consequently little work of importance was accomplished during the morning. Away was given a- strong work out over two miles and showed a useful turn of speed. "When cooled out no was a trifle sore. Sheik and Belavan's Quest were only jogged, having worked fast on tho previous day. T G. Fox drove Nelson Boy a strong mile. The Nelson Bingen gelding is on the improve and should not he long in winning a stake. Guv Fawkes showed a useful turn of speed while covering a couple of miles. Dolly Dillon was anxious to increase the pr.ee while negotiating several circuits. Locanda Mao and Don "Wild were companions in a work-out over two miles. Tho journey.took 4m 42s and Don Wild made tho best showing. Proud Ata and Queen Ida. in company trotted two miles. Both horses raced in close company until a, furlong from home, when the former broke, but otherwise their efforts were satisfactory. Golden Sun paced evenly ever a mile and a half, and did it well. ■' P. Riddle drove Orion two miles at a solid pace. For once the Australianbred pacer was in a generous mood and worked satisfactorily. Realm is still on the easy list, and there is very little prospect of his going- to the post in the Cup. E. Carlyon is working a three-year-colt by Great Audubon from Dollar Princess. The youngster is a nice "pacer and is engaged in the Auckland T.C.'s Great Northern Derby. The West Coast owned niaro Future is a recent addition to N. C. Price's team at New Brighton. J. J. Kennerley's team to race at Timaru will include Harebell Direct, Charles Dixie, Native Chief, and Great Epsom.
