NO AMALGAMATION.

OLD BOYS' CRICKET CLUB. The High School Old Boys' Club decided last night that it would not amalgamate with the St. Albans Club, but that it would seek affiliation with the Canterbury Crieket Association. The condition on which the, Association offered the clofb, affiliation was that it might enter teams in all grades of competition except the Senior A. A special meeting of the club was held last night, Mr B. C. Burns, tho captain, presiding. The chairman explained that the meeting was to determine the action of the club. The CCA. had refused to allow the club to enter a First Grade A side in the competition, but- it had given permission to play in the First Grade B and lower competitions. Members had not been in favour of that proposal, and there had been a suggestion that the club should amalgamate with the St. Albans Club. ,The idea was that a First Grade A team should be selected from the best players in the two clubs, but that in the lower grades there should be separate teams from St. Albans players and Old Boys' players. The combined clab would have its headquarters at Hagley Park. In the future members of the combined club would be recruited exclusively from High School old boys. The meeting then went into committee and discussed tho proposal thoroughly. Mr H. M. Taylor moved, when the meeting resumed, that the clnb should not amalgamate. Mr L. 0. Page seconded the motion, which was carried. It was decided to affiliate with the Canterbury Cricket Association.
