She should reach Nome in a ] fortnight. It is presumed there are J 15 a,board. s [The Maud left Nome, Alaska, on June 28th, 1922, and C-ptain Amund- 1 sen having lelt. the ship at Ce-pe Hope c for Point Barrow to prepare* for his £ Polar flight, the Maud, 011 July 28th, < left to make the attempt to drift s across tho Polar Basin. Tho drift 9 throughout appears to have been moro i: to the east thaiu to tho north. The t ship was built to Captain Amundsen's s own. design. She is 120 ft lons and v 40ft beam and 30ft draught.] f
