SEAMEN'S NEW AGREEMENT FIRST HITCH OCCURS. (BY CABLE—MESS ASSOCIATION*— COFYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLt ASSOCIATION.) (Received August 11th, 10.30 p.m.) DNEY. August 14. I he first trouble over the new agreement between the shipowners and the Seamen's Union occurred when the Maheno was due to sail at 4 p.m. Iho vessel had to pay two men off owing to sickness.- When the company tried to replace them there was no response, the men clairnin;; that as the vessel was 011 New Zealand articles the Seamen's Union was entitled to refuse to supply men after the ordinary pick-ing-up hours. The vessel left the wharf and anchored in the harbour.
