PROGRESS LEAGUE'S DEPUTATION. (PRESS ASSOCIATION IELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, August 14. The South Island members of Parliament Association.' executive has discussed the attitude it should adopt towards the completion of the South Island Main Trunk railway and has decided unanimously to support the Progress Leagues in their deuptation. Mr D. G. Sullivan, secretary of the executive, has definitely arranged with the Prime Minister to receive a deputation next Thursday, and Mr T. K. Sidey has been appointed to introduce the deputation. At at subsequent meeting of the executive. a comprehensive programme of South Island requirements was adopted for representation to the Government by the combined South Island members. The development of scenic resorts is a prominent feature. More publicity and better facilities to get to the scenic spots, which include Akaroa, Caroline Bay, the West Coast glaciers, Mount Cook, the Southern Lakes, with special regard to tracks and Southland's beauty spots, are asked for.
