A message from Montreal states that J. O. Andoueon and Eoy Taylor, of Scuth Australia,' have arrived and are practising. Anderson apireare to be in fin© condition. The Australians have not definitely chosen their te&ni for the Canadian matches, but probably Anderson and Patterson v.ill play in the singles. Patterson and Ilawkcs are expected to arrive for eerioue team work on August Bth. Iveroy Rennie,. of Toronto, has been selected fourth' member of the Canadian Davis Oup team, which will comprise Willard Crocker, Jack Wright, E. H. Lafrdmhoise, and Rennie.

ANDERSON ON FRENCH PROSPECTS. MONTREAL, August 7. J. O. Anderson said that , Franco and .not the United States is expected to be ithe hazard of Australia's bid for the Davis Cup this year. Rene La Coste had shown more improvement in the past two years than any he had seen, end Laecste's temperament was much better suited to tournament play than any of liis French teammates. . He has a cool head in any emergency, which, coupled with his scintillating play, will make him ft deadly opponent of the Australians. The United States players hold no terrors for the Australians, and they are confident - of the. result. .
