BOY SPEECH-MAKERS.

ALL-NATIONS BANQUET. About 250 boys attended the All Nations -Banquet held in the Y.M.C.A. concert hall on Saturday niglit. Mr Neil Hawkins, presided. .An enjoyable musical program mo was submitted, and a nuriiber- of toasts were honoured. The following was the toast list: "Tho King and Empire." proposed by the chaiiman: "The U.5.A.," proposed by Master R. Queree and responded to byMr H. P. Bridge, consular agent for tho United IStates; "France," proposed by Master B. Tuttta and responded to by Mr Willoughby; "China," proposed, by Maister 31. Sproscn and responded to by Mr G. Bates; "Boys of the World," proposed by 11. Sharp and responded to by Mr E. M. Robinson, Boys' Work 3>irector, Geneva, Switzerland. Items were contributed by Masters J. Watts, and W. and J. Williams. Master Ilay Queree was accompanist., Mr Robinson, in responding to the toast. "Boys of the World." stateil that ho brought to tho boys assembled there that evening a-greeting from the world alliance of tho Y.M.C.A. He thanked them for the cordial reception they had given Mrs Robinson and himself and expressed the opinion that New Zealand was one of the truly great nations of tho world. He did not make this contention on account of its size, but because of the quality it had displayed. The speaker then proceeded to outline tho work which was beinu done in the boys' departments of the Y.M.C.A. in various parts of the world. , ill- G. McKenzie, Boys' Work Director of the Y.M.C.A. Christchureh. thanked Mr llobmson for his address.
