Social and Personal. Mr and Mra E. D. Alosley (Maori Hill) motored to Christchurch on Saturday. Miss Reid (North Canterbury) is the guest of the Misses McLaren (le Cren's terrace). ... Mrs Wilfrid White (Level?) spent the week-end with Mrs W. C. Burns (Church street). Mrs Maurice le Crcu (Beverley road) is back from a visit to Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Timaru Rhodos (Hadlow) motored to Christchurch, and are the gueists of Mr and Mrs E. J. Cordner. Mr" Maurice Harper and Miss Betty Harper (Wai-iti road) and Mr and Mrs and the Misses Edgar Jones (Gleniti) are in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs E. J. le Cren and Mies Ethel le Cren (Maori Hill), and Miss Betty Beadel, who has been their guefJt for some weeks, have gone to Christchurch. Mrs S. M. Elworthy, who is at present in England, has bought Mr W. K. MacDonald's house in le Crefl's terrace, where she and Miss Elworthy intend to reside on their return to New Zealand.

The Competitions. In spite of adverse weather conditions, there was a largo attendance at the final session of the Timaru competitions on Saturday night.
