Handicaps for the third day will be published on Saturday morning, and acceptances' will close at 12 uoou the same day.

TROTTING NOTES. Acceptances for the Forbury Park T.C.'s Fleet Meeting close on Thursday at 5 p.m. Great Bingeu has made a good recovery from the lameness which placed him out of commission for a couple of days last week and ho : will fulfil his engagements at the coming Meeting. Horses engaged at Aldington during the coming Meeting must enter the ground by Wright's road. The popularity of the light harness sport in the Northern City has been fully demonstrated by the excellent nominations received by the Auckland T.C. for its Fleet Meeting. For tho seven, races. 178 hotses figure in the list, averaging over 25 horses a race. The Officers' Handicap lias drawn a ■field of 39, America Stakes (Free for All) 10, Stats aftd Stripes Handicap 26, Admiral's Handicap 18, Governor's Handicap 18, Fleet Handicap 49, and the Au Kevoir Handicap 18. Canterbury owned afld trained horses are freely engaged at the Auckland T.C.'s Fleet Meeting. Amongst those hatilig representatives- are W. J. Of the ten horses engnged in the America Stakes (Free For All) eight are trained iu the South. A special horse train will leave Christchurch for Dunedin on August 16th at 10.10 p.m., taking horses engaged at the Forbury Park T.C.'s Fleet Meeting, also racehorses that have assisted at tho ■ Canterbury Jockey Club's Grand National Fixture. It will stop at Sodtburn, Eakaia, Ashburton and Timaru and stations south of Timaru when required. The Annual Reunion of members of the Canterbury Owners' and Breeders' Association will be held in tiie Masonic Hull to-night at 8 o'clock. This year's function promises to be a great success; ns the Committee has been successful in arranging a first-class musical programme. The report to be presented a " 0 alinual meeting of the Auckland Trotting Club states that the past yea* has been the best in the history of t e Club. After writing off £290 143 depreciation, tho Profit and Loss Account shows a credit balance of £IO,O/5 13s 2d. Of this sum £10,050 has been carried to Capital Account, leaving 13s 2d still to the credit of Profit and Loss Account. The Capital Account has increased from £IO,OOO m 1913 to £55,000 iu 192u, an ° f £45,000 in twelve years, lhe debenture issue of £60,000 has now been fully paid up. During the past season the Club gave £27,50 ain stakes for the three meetings.
