At Crowhorough, the magistrates remanded George Jeffrey, aged li\, charged with the murder of Joan Anixett. Being under 16 years of age he sVould be sent on remand to a home, but tho police obtained an order for his eomonittal to a prison. It is believed this is intended to facilitate doctors' observations in view of the boy's medical history.

The Postmaster-General, replying - to tho resolutions of the Empire Pryss Union, has sent the union a sununai-y of recent Empire wireless developinenia identical with his statement in Ishe House of Commons. He mentions that Canada, South Africa, and India have accepted an invitation to be represented on the committee mentioned in earlier cablegrams, but says that the Commonwealth and New Zealand Governments have not yet replied.
