IN BANKRUPTCY.
ESTATE OF T. J. DUNN,
A meeting of creditors in the bankrupt estate of Thomas John Dunn, bank messenger, Christchurch, was set down for yesterday morning before tiio Official Assignee, Mr A. W. Watters. There was only one creditor, who did not appear, and the meeting was adjourned. In his sworn statement bankrupt said that he was cmploved as a messenger by the B--\nk of New South Wales, earning £3 Os (id a week, and had no assets except a few personal effects. Ho was unable to save anvthing out of his salary. He was indebted to Mr W. E. Simcs, lajid broker, for the sum of £324 4s 3d, being balance due under a mortgage to him, with costs incurred thereon. At the time of incurring this liability he did not realise his position, and could not realise it now. In April, 1912, Simes entered into possession of the property as mortgagee, as bankrupt was unable to keep up his payments. On handing oyer the property'he understood that all liability so far as he was concerned ceased. Simcs had now issued a writ for (he amount due and he had no option but to file-
