ANNUAL SPORTS. | i (SPECIAL TO "THE TRESS.") TIMARTJ, October 18. Tlie Timaru Boys' High School's annual Bports werc # held at the School grounds day. The weather conditions were far from ideal, the sky being overcast with heavyclouds and a chill south-easterly wind blowing across the ground. A good deal of, rain had fallen overnight, but although a little heavy, the ground was in good order. Two , records were broken during the morning, 1 Morrison lowering the 120 yds junior, cham-. pionship time by 2-ssec, and Slade the 880 yds senior handicap and championship by l-sscc. An exhibition if drill and marching, given by the school en masse during the afternoon, made a welcome break and showed to advantage the iihe stamp of boys the school is producing. Tho school band played selections at intervals, and afternoon tea was provided for the largo number of parents and friends who were present.
