Sir —For many months lovers of the theatre—and by these I moan these people who are not bounded by revue and musical comedy—have waited anxiously for the arrival of tho company now presenting such excellent plays at tho Theatre Royal. Indeed, it .was with a jealous eye that we looked upon the extended Australian toason—fearing perhaps it would bo our unhappy fate to miss these distinguished artists alter all. However, when we read, the list" of nlays submitted in other cities of our Dominion, hope revived, and we wcro thrilled with expectancy. Now comes this intense disappointment, for k, teems we are to be deprived—and this cJciphe the advertiiimcnts —of Barric's •'Twelve Pound Look," as cur-tain-raiser to "Mr Pim Passes By." Wo were prepared for, the omission of -'The Will"'preceding "Aren't We All?''" but seeing that it was possible to stage '"Tho Twelve Pound Look" in Wellington, we cannot reconcile ourselves to this great disappointment. So few are our privileges—handicapped as wo arc by distance from the Homeland—that 'wc are positively -recdr for all that we krio'w to be in the rertcrtoire of these delightful artists. Could'the management but realise—arid surely the houses 'have justified this—how genuine is our sorrow, an extended season of "'Mr Pim ; " would not only follow, but. wo should see our deleted curtain-raisers.— Yours, etc., GOURMET -(Dranxatiiiue.)
