SYDNEY, September 22. It is announced that Goodsell Jias withdrawn his challenge to Paddon to row for the world' 3 clumpionship. ' '■ .'■"-.. Prior to Saturday's- rare,- Paddon expressed a desire to withdraw from his position-as world's champion. At a subsequent nuetin:? of his supporters, Paddon asked the withdrawal of the to allow him time to consider the position. Later it was stated that he is likely to retire, in which case the title -will go back to Hadfield. In that event, Goodsell probably will challenge Hadfield. which would mean that the next race would bo rowed in New 'Zealand.
Goodsell declared he would not taike the title by forfeit^
