A BOXER'S DEATH.
(PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) DUXEDIX, September 22. The inquest concerning the death of Ronald M'Galium, aged twenty-seven, at the amateur boxing touruey at Palinerston was opened and adjourned. Dr. Thomas stated that deceased, after falling against the ropes, struck the back of his head on the floor, fracturing the base of his skull. The floor was padded. Jn answer to the Coroner, witness, stated that his opinion was that _ it' there had been more padding at the side of the ring a fracture or. the skull would not have occurred. lie thought cushioning around the ring was required specially for amateur boxing.
