HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY.

MEETING OF COMMITTEE. A special meeting of the committee of Ifc Canterbury Horticultural Society was hel last evening, Mr E. E. Wiltshire prosiflin over a full attendance. Barr, seconded by Mr Young, that : canvas sign be erected on the City Hole front, advertising the dates of the eho-w: The chairman reported that he hid receivec a consignment of gladiolus bulbs to giv avay to members introducing new members and that these who were entitled to thesi gift bulbs, which were really good varieties could now obtain them. It was decided that Mr Beumelburg ant Mjt W. J. Humm bo appointed a Press Com mittee for the ehow. Mr Humm mentioned that he had been ii touch with many growers during the pas week, and confidently anticipated an excelienl show from all standpoints, the flowering shrubs this aeason being exceptionally fine, Many now varieties would be seen exhibited foe use first time.
