Norman Selbv, known in the prizering, where he was famous years ago, as "'Kid McCoy," lias be-on arrested and charged with suspicion of muider, following the finding of Mrs Theresa Moers, with whom ho was said to have been living, shot dead. Later, McCoy attempted to rob a grocery store, but was foiled l>v a bystander, who was shot in the scuffle. The police are searching for Albert Moers, a wealthy antique dealer, and the divorced husband of the dead woman, who was at first reported killed by McCoy and later said to liavo been wounded. Later McCoy told the police that the woman committed suicide. Evidence tends to corroborate this statement. Later. Moers has been found alive and detained. A CONFESSION. (beutsb's telegrams.) The police at Los Angeles had a wild chase for McCoy through crowded streets. Tho police' commandeered automobiles, and finally ran him down. He submitted quietly. McCoy figured in the recent divorce between M-s Moers and her husband. In the settlement the husband' gave his wife £IOO,OOO, including a large antique shop. Mrs Moers told the Court she intended to marry McCoy. The latter appears temporarily crazy. Evidently he killed Mrs Moers in the daylight in the apartment where he was living with her, then tried to find Moers, evidently intending to murder him. Going to the antique shop, he failed to find Moers, but found William Boss, a millionaire merchant, and three other people. These he lined up against the wall with threats of death, ordering them to remove their clothing, when he robbed them of all their money and jewellery. As fast as customers entered the shop he robbed them and they joined the partv standing against tho wall. Occasionally McCoy, approached and smashed some man with his fist, knocking out the victim's teeth. In an hour -McCoy had 15 more or less fainting people standing against the wall fearful of death. Suddenly Ito&s mado a break for the door, but McCoy shot him on the sidewalk. A great crow d gathered and McCoy fled, shooting until his gun was emptied. „ Ross will probably recover. Two others were seriously wounded. McCoy is aged 50 and has been married nine times.
