THEFT AND VAGRANCY. (PBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAHS.)' NEW PLYMOUTH, August, 14. Alexander Clifford James Welsh was today sentenced to three months imprisonment on a charge of being an idle and dia-
orderly person, with- insufficient visible lawful means of support. Defendant, under the name of De la eea<x>rd, posed as a civil engineer and special correspondent of the Sydney "Daily Telegraph, ' sent to to write up the Taranaxi oilfields. He was also fined £1 on each of two charges of osence3 against the Arm 3 Act, and sentenced to two months' imprisonment on each of two charges of theft.
