(CONTINUED FROM PAGE 2.) WEDDINGS. HILL—SAUNDERS.

A wedding of considerable local interest was solemnised in All Saints Cliureh, Prebbleton, on Tuesday afternoon, when Kathleen, eldest daughter of the late Mr P. J. Saunders and Mrs Saunders, of Prebbleton, was married to Albert, youngest son of Mr and Mrs H. Hill, of Adding ton. lbe officiating clergyman was the Rev. r. R. Rawle, and Miss I. Haytcn played suitable nuptial music. The bride, who entered the church accompanied by her uncle, Mr A. Case, made a charming picture in a simple satin frock of a pale apricot shade, with sleeves of radium lace, and low-waisted bodice finished guaging on the hips. A beautiful tulle veil, lent by a friend, was worn over the face, and held in position by sprays of orange blossom, while a bouquet ot choice white flowers, tied with streamers of white ribbon, was carried. The bridesmaid, Miss Kathleen Jenkins, cousin of the bride, wore a pretty frock of turquoise blue radium silk, with hat of amber marocain underlined with pale blue, and trimmed with vari-eoloured flowers. Her bouquet Avas of pink and white flowers, tied with pale pink streamers. The two little flower girls, Cora ' Saunders, sister of the bride, and Jepna Hill, niece of the bridegroom, wore frocks of cream silk with frills of pleated georgette, and carried posies of white daisies. The bridegroom was attended by Mr .lack Saunders, brother of the bride, as best man. Mrs Hill's travelling dress was of grey cloth with short astrachan coat to match, and a hat of peacock green embossed velvet inset with gold lace. Mrs Saunders entertained a.nnmber of relatives and friends at her home immediatelv after the ceremony, and again in the evening. Among the guests were: Mrs J. Saunders (Eiccarton) grandmother of the bride; Mrs Arthur Wilkes , (North _ Island), aunt of the bride, and Miss Wilkes, Mr and Mrs Hil' (parents of the bridegroom), Mr and Mrs H. BROWN —SIMPSON. A wedding was celebrated at St. James's .Church, Woburn road. Lower ;Hvtt, August 7tfi, by the Rev t Mr Blackburn, when Miss K. M. Simpson, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A Simpson, of "Wai-Ponga," Knight s road,, 'Louver Hutt (late of Marlborough), was married to Mr S. H. Brown, 1 youngest son of the late Mr and Mrs Broivn, of Hokitika. The bride was given away by her. father, • and wore a gown of white satin and lace, with a veil of orange blossims. She carried a pretty'bouquet of white ireesias' 1 and cyclamen, and • a •string of pearls,' the gift ot the bridegroom. Miss E. Simpson (sister o\ : the bridegroom) was the b id€",maid, and wore a fro?k of pale blue satin and a wreath of silver leaves on her ■hair. She carried a bouquet of sweet peas and freesias. The best n.an was Mr J. ■' H. M. ; Simpson, brothsr of 'the bride. The wedding breakfast' was held .at the residence or the bride's parents, where Mrs Simpson received the guests. The usual toasts were honoured, and later, in the evenin» the bride and bridegroom left for the. . north, -the., .b ide .. travelling in a. 'navy blue costume' and hat to mat:h. Many useful gifts were received, and among them was a set'of tab.e sir-er from the District Lands Office, where the bridegroom is employed.

HYNES—BROHAN. A very pretty wedding was solemnised at St. Patrick's Church, Waimate, recently, the contracting parties beingMary Cecilia, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs M. Brolian, Moriven, to Micnael Hynes, also.of Morven. The Rev. Father Peoples performed the cere-many-and celebrated Nuptial Mass. The bride, who was escorted by her brother, looked charming in a frock of white; satin broche, with sleeves and. siue panels of georgette. The pretty embroidered veil" was becomingiv arranged with a circlet of orange blossoms and she carried a beautiful bridal bouquet. . . ' Miss Katie Brohan (sister of the bride)- was bridesmaid. She wore royal blue satin with hat to.match. Mr J. Hynes, brother of the "bridegroom, was best man. The" bridal party left the churcli to {Ee strains/of the - ''Wedding March" played by Miss Kathleen O'Brien. Following the ceremony a reception was held at the '-Savoy," where some fifty guests were entertained at breakfast. and the, usual toasts , were honoured.
