BAZAAR AND SALE OF WORK.
IN AID OF LEWISHAM HOSPITAL. Jollity prevailed at tba baaaar and oalo of work, which was opened in tho Caleionian Hall la-at night to help tho cause of tha Leirisham Free Hospital for all denominations. The hall was effeo'ivcly decorated with multi-coloured • paper streamers and bright lights, which warn subdued with soft rose-coloured abodes. Garlands of flowers and streamers and bunting draped the walls in a most pleasing manner. Tho place, for the present, is converted into » Tery busy and attractively designed roajiet, to which many people wended their way last night, aad, being imbued with the spirit of carnival, thoy soon made their 1 pockets as light as their hearts, and thus the coffers of tho various stallholders were filled.
During the evening Derry'a private band played many popular tune«, which were much appreciated, and the talented pupils of Mrs Hulme gave a delightful dance recital. Tha respective stalls and those in charge of them were:— Cake Stall —Mesdames G. L. Cunliffe, H. T. J. Thacker, P. Ardagh, Johnston, Duncan, J. S. Neville and tne Misses Morkane. Charity Stall—Mesdames Nottingham, Barnett and Lee, and Nurse Doherty. Variety Stall—Mesdames Vincent, Heaphy, Gcrrard, Piper, Phillips, Malone and Miss Casa : n. "Florence Nightingale" Stall—Meedwnes W. Clifford, A. Bijnz, Lane, Beahan, Whito und Miss Maude. Those vrho took part jn Mrs Hulme'i recital were:—Missel Lily "Wilkinson, Mad?o Davidson, Eileen Bishop. Diorotby Manhfre, Iv#s Jfianhire, Thelroa Jones, Maria Wcdcroll, Molly Fcnvler, Marian Gross, Alice Good, Marie Treleaven, Joy Duckwood, Azalf-a Peoples, Betty Johns, and B. Fowler, Tho bazaar and sale of work will be continued- to-night, when the art union, which is being run in conjunction with it, will bo - drawn.
