Lieutenant Jones, of the Royal Air Force, scratch man, finished with the best time in the King's Cup aerial race of 050 miles, his time being Thr 20min 52«ec.
A. J. Cobham, who was second last rear, won the Cup, and A. S. Butler was second. Captain 3lacmillan, who accompanied Major Blake on his attempted world-flight two years ago, was third. Ten. famous livers ascended at live o'clock this morning for, tho longest one-day aerial race ever held, over 950 miles, starting from--Martlesham, Suffolk, and passing Edinburgh, Dumbarton, Falmouth and finishing at Lcc, on the Solent.
The machines included one teapfanc and two amphibians. Lieutenant Jones was the tirst io pass Dumbarton at 8.15 a-m. King- crashed, breaking tho undercarriage of his machine, at Newcastle. F. T. Courtney, last year's winner, 'broke a spinner and landed at Brough and retired. F. L. Barnard, winner of the 1922 race,. landed at Haylield, Ayr, and broke his propeller.
