CASUALTIES.

■ • . fatal accident. An elderly man, whose identity has not been established, died in the Christehurch Hospital last night from' injuries received when he fell from a tramcar- at the corner ofMoorhouse aveniie and . Colombo street, shortly after, five o'clock. It is surmised that he ca'me-from MethVen, but there were no papers on the body, by which he could be identified. The old man. aged about 65 years, and about sft 3in in height, is said to have boarded the tramcar in Addington. The tram travelled slowly round the corner of Moorhouse avenue and Colombo street, and when it pulled up a conductor noticed the man lyinsj on the .side of the road. He was admitted to the Hospital at 5.35 p.m., ant? his injuries did not appear to be serious, although he had cuts on his head and hands. Dr. Ward attended him at 6.20 p.m.. and just before 8 o'clock the man collapsed and died:. G. C. a married man, of 130 Madras'street, an employee in A. and T. Bart's factory, was caught in the shafting yesterday morning; and thrown about eighteen feet. His. injuries, which'-included bruises about the body and face,. necessitated his removal to the Christchurch Hospital. He was not in a serious condition last night.
