Arch Salute and Soliforni, with welter weights up, wero well matched over a mile, which they ran in lm 4a 't-os. It was a good gallop, n-nd they were running on at the finish. Pilliewinkie and Many Kitt-lo sprinted half a mile together in o'le, and could have done better. Star Rauger, who had the lighter weight up, beat GriantkilJer over the same ground in 51 -i-ss.

Palestrina had Whaifedale s mcaburc at tbe finish of seven furlongs run in ltn 32 4-ss, the last four taking ol 3-os. It was a nice gallop, and both wore staying ou. Logic, a big gelding from Woodnlie, was easily too good for Prompter over six furlongs run in Ira 21 «3-ss. He finished on the bit. Dominant and Kuhio finished together at the end of six furlongs I'uly comfortably in lm 225. Hyperion beat Kilcannieh comfortably over live furlongs in lm Bs. Winning Hit, who was brought homo by Rivalry, ran fcc'vcr furlongs in lm 345. The first three took '.id li-os and tho chestnut horso did not look capable of doing any better. Boadicea, who was carrying well on to list, had Winkle's Best, as a companion in a sprint over half a- mile that took 52s s which was the best performance of tho morning", all things considered. Boadicea is only a small mare, but she carries weight well, and her chance in tho Winter Cup appears to be a good one.

Sir lioscbcrry was given ;i sh«oiig working gallop. Sturdce beat Tigcrland easily o\'ei- a mile in lm 57 2-ss. Los Ambus and Duo wero sent against each other over seven furlongs. Los Ambus did not have to do his best to beat tho Hawke's Bav gelding in lm 355. They were carrying about Ost each. Bonnio Winkio beat Sunart oivcr seven furlongs in lm 34 2-os. They were ridden out and the Winkio gelding was about a length to tho good as the poet was parsed. Lochson was out. doing easy pacing, and was not lamo after it.

Omahu and Boomerday schooled together over six ilights of hurdles. They raced into every fonct; together, but Oinahu was the quicker awav, and gained from six to eight lengths at each. Boomerday ha,d to be kicked along to make up.his lost ground b*forfe reaching the nexb fence. Omahu's exhibition was a fine one, and lit) sccrns more at home over hurdles than country.

Silvertou and Mrsb Lino were fceparately given strong pace work. Tinokaha and Income set out *<} school over six flights ot hurdles together. Tinokaha jumped woll, bat. Income showed that he knew nothing about jumping, and after ho had bucked over three fences H. Gray pulled_ him up. Ho will not run in the National Hurdles.

Carawock and Fireblight wero associated over six of tlio stccpleclir.so fences. Fireblight, who jumped like a hunter, had not enough pace to keep Carawock stretched out, and the resubt trail that ,ho made several bad jumps, and gave A. Wormald an uneomfortabifj ride. In his earlier schooling tasks he has fenced beautifully. Merry Singer, who looks an improved horse since lie raced at Wellington, outjumped and outgalloped Maungu, over five flights of hurdles. Ilka was too good for San Forte over fivo furlongs run in lm 7s. Afterwards Sanforto was schooled over the steeplechase fences and jumped well. Red Wink was too good for Clareina over sis furlongs run in lm 21s. Pamplona and Oakleigli were" companions in a strong working gallop once round. Pamplona, who for soino days has been showing symptoms of lameness behind, was decidedly lame when trotting round afterwards, but it wore off, and he walked homo fairly well. , . Lucinette beat Wapping and Santiago easily over seven furlongs run in lm 365. Papain' Through and Red Cent gave a pleasing "display once round over the country. Bonibrook, Lei Tort, and Demand were companions in a schooling gallop twice round over the hurdles. Bouibrook and Le Port finished ahead iff Demand after giving a good showing, but Demand lost a lot of. ground at every fence, having'no idea of how to get over and away smartly. Palencia was given a strong working gallop. He is still soro in front Owing to having over-reached. Ravenna, 'who has been hitting herself in her gallops, was not worked.
