At a meeting of the St. Paul s Church Spring Flower Show committee it was decided to hold the next flower show and sale of work on Wedi cosday, September 17th. Reports from I the Ladies' Guild showed that a conj siderable amount of work had been, done and arranged for in connexion with the Btalls. Mr Maddren, of Clifton was elected secretary in place of the retiring secretary, Mr It. E. James. The chairman referred to the splendid work done by Mr James and the assistant secretary, Mr Grigg, and _ a resolution of appreciation was carried by acclamation. Marine Band. A social and dance is to be held in the band room at Grafton street on the Sth inst., when a cordial invitation is isßued to all supporters of tlio band. As more instruments for the senior band and better instruments for the junior band are a pressing necessity, a "Monster Bazaar" and art uniou trill bo held in January next. The committee are aiming at a net profit o£ £SOO. Life Saving. A meeting of the committee of the Life-Saving Club was held on Thursday, when Mr W. Newburgh presided. The chairman reported that the contractor for the alterations intended commencing operations next week. The socrotary reported that three members of tho club had given a demonstration of resuscitation work to the St. John Ambulance ladies' class. Arrangements for the social on Monday were loft to the lady members. The Tuesday evening classes at the Tepid Baths are being continued, but more support should be forthcoming from members.
