WILLOWBY SCHOOL.
NEW BATH PROPOSAL. A district in the Ashburton County which has proved, itself very progress sire in many ways is Willowby. There are a tennis club and ;i miniature rifle shooting club, which is one of the strongest in tho county, and musical and c'oeutionary competitions aro held very successfully each year. An old resident, Mr Alfred Cass, presented tho people of the district with a lino hall, up to date in every respect, for concerts', . dances or socials, nnd now residents are moving to rajse funds to build a suitable concrato •swimming bath "for the children of the Willowby-School. Socials and dances are to be held to raise the money for tho object, the estimated cost of which is £650. -At present there is a shingle pit full ol water which is used, but the residents consider this method out of date. When the scheme goes through a strong amateur swimming club could probably be tormed in tho district, and with the revival of the Tinwald Club thero bhotdd be some interesting c-r.m petitions among tho Ashburton and countrv clubs.
