Serious Charges. In the Magistrate's Court to-day, Frederick Bowles, a prominent cricketer, had six charges of indecent assault preferred against him. Mr W. P. j Campbell appeared for accused. A ro- ' mand was granted till Saturday, bail being allowed, GERALDINE. At the Savago Club korero, Bravo C 1 A. Crowe, who commanded tho Sav- ' ages, expressed regret that, they were about to loss two players on cunning instruments, Savages Hammond and Manson. A very pleasant evening was spent. . A successful evening was provided by the Ladies' Croquet. Club, the programme- including dancing and progressive euchre. Tho prizes were won by Miss 0. Bell and Mr Patcrson. The Geraldino District Hipyi School is losing two members of its staff, Mr H. Hammond' having been appointed to th«e Sydenham school, and Mr Manson to the West Coast. By his fellow-teachers Mr Manson... was presented with a Loewe pipe,' and by his pupils with a safety razor. Quite a number of social gatherings have been held in honour of Mr Hammond, whose many abilities and readiness to help have won him friends and esteem. He was presented .with a travelling nu* by his fellow-teachers and by his pupils, through Hector Mackenzie, with a set of military brushes. .On Tuesday morning 20 points of rain were registered, and it was hoped' that more would' follow, but the weather continues fine and springlike. However, Tuesday's shower had a besielici tl effect on the young wheat. I
