"What is a balopticon?" This was a question which some members of the Canterbury Education Board asked at yesterday's meeting, when a report was presented by the Normal School Committee stating that a letter had been revived from the Education Department to the-effect that a balopticou was being supplied to the College. "A what J" askect members. Mr E. It. Andrews (chairman of the committee) repeated the word. Mr A. Peverill; "Js it an animal we are getting out." ''Are we starting a museum at the Normal School f" asked another member. Mr Andrews cleared up the mystery by informing the meeting that a balopticon was an improved type of magic lantern.-
