On July 12th hound 3 met at "Ruddiford," Oxford. Tho day was gittiouely fine, with a slight north-West breeze blowing, which made scent very pfttchy. Tho hounds were cast off in on« of Mr BeertVs paddocks, and were Quickly on tho ecent of 'a. hare, which crossed on to Mr B. Wotherspoon's aild Mr BOseiter's properties, then circled hack to the "Ruddiford" homestead, and was events oily lost in the riverbed. Thia wafl a Bplen« did run, its tho -distance covered was approximately three and a .half miles. If the riverbed had been a few chains further on tho hounds would have surely made 4 kill. Hound* were again oast out in one of Mr R. WotherspobnV paddocks, and were quickly oil the scent ot another hare, which took a southerly direction through the properties of Messrs Wotherapoon, Hawke, and Gilchrist, but was eventually lost in one of Mr McKec'u paddocks At this stage the followers adjourned to "Eyredale," where Mr and Mis MclCee and frieuiß entertained them to lunch. After luncheon, hounds wero oast out in a paddock opposite "Eyredale," where a strong hare wa» flighted. Fiitch soon had the hounds in full cry, and after a upicndid run through Mr Wright's property and circling back tt> "Fyredaie," hounds made a kill in the paddock in whioh the chase started. This wab tho run of the day, as tho distance covered was about three miles, and no fewer than, ten fences had to be negotiated by followers. After another short run, hounds were drawn for the day.
