HORORATA RACING CLUB. ANNUAL MEETING. » The annual general meeting of the Hororata Racing Club was held in the Herorata Hail on Tuesday. Mr H. A. Knight I (president) was in the chair, and there fraa a good attendance of members. The annual report and bamnoe-cheet were adopted. The b*l*nco-sheet showed a net profit for the year of £ll3 10s 6d, which must tie considered very satisfactory in fnce Of the very heavy tasation levied. The stakes last year had been increased by j£3oo, and totalled i 995, 83 against £690 in 19*22. The tot&lisator receipts in 1921 amounted to £OBI, da against JB&i in 19&, gate receipts compared with £197, race caida £62, as against '£37, ftl)d nominations and acceptance fees ±2ss f.s against £241. The catering tights brought in £36, Assets amounted to £2301 lte *d, including Jfioi 15s id for the buildings renewal account . The president, in moving tha adoption of the report and balancS-sheet, said that WheA the affairs of. clubs Were bright,' «verydne was pleased, but when things had not tutted out as hoped—Well, they w*re then entitled to growl. They were fortunate in baring a fine day and good racing. He hoped that taxation would be reduced, and said a reduction was promised by the Prime Minister. The president concluded by saying that the club was now on ft gooa foundation, and trusted it would remain so. Mr H. Oliver, chairman of tha committee, in seconding the Motion, congratulated the club on now being free of debt. He mentioned the improvements Which had been recently completed. Ironside for past services to the club. • i Prior to the annua! meeting a special meeting was held for the purpose of bringing the club under tho Incorporated Societies Act. 1908. After the annual meeting » committee meeting was held, all the members being present. Mr 11. OJirer was elected chairman tor tb* ensuing year. _ . . It was decided that the club should join the Royal Agricultural Society. The balance of money owing to the contractor. £155, was passed for payment. In the annual renort, mention was made of the death Of Mr "William "Watson, and sympathy was extended to his relatives. The improvements to the course and alterations to buildings had cost tho club somewhere in the vicinity of £IOOO, but tho committee considered the money well sDent. . The club's thanks were due "to Mr i'. 3. Rutherford for the handsome silver cup presented to the club last year and won by Mr G. TROTTING NOTES. Training- operations at Addington yesterday were conducted under anything- but favourable weather conditions, as a keen southerly wind was much in evidence, but the course tvsa in first-clasa order. Major Domo gave a pleasing- displav ot trotting over two miles. Tho son of "Wildwood J-un. looks well and is steadily improving. From a flying start, Snowshoe paced attractively over a mile and a-hnlf, and registered good time. Adair assisted over the early stages, but towards tho finish was eased up. Locanda Mac and George Grafton did sprinting exercise, and both horses showed a useful turn of speed Native King, who is apparently quite well a-gain, trotted evenly ovor several circuits at half-pace. Harry iii9 stablemate, worked without the straps and did what was asked of him in a satisfactory manner. Landlord, who is now tin inmato of D. McKendry'B stable, wh« on the track but did not work fast. The eon of Brent Locandalooks well and has only to strike form to, race prominently. Lee Xorrig was given strong work over a journey, as also were St. Anthony and Proudala. A number of others wore exercised, and more than likely will he worked fast to-day. Partner and Binscarth " have left VT. Bryne's stable and in future will bo trained by ft. "W. Franks. The risiHg three-year-old filly Joy Bells, by Cathedral Chimes from Mario Lloyd, recently purchased by the Dunedin sportsman, Mr G. Barton, has joined W. J. Tomkinson'a stable at Addington> "Whispering "Willie is trotting in his b<-st style at the present time, as early in the week at New' Br'ghton the son of "Woodland Whispers and Gossip was responsible for an attractive work-out over two miles, and pulled up well.
