COWBOYS AT WEMBLEY.
CROWD ROUSED TO ANGER,

Nearly 250,000 persons profited by the weather forecast of a brief fine spell and visited Wembley on Saturday. Ninety thousand were present, including representatives of humanitarian societies, at the opening of the international rodeo. Spectators delightedly cheered the hair-raising stunts of the broncho riders and lassoers, but an angry demonstration was occasioned by the steer-roping contest. When a steer's leg was broken thousands of people rose in their places and booed, and continued the protests for the remainder of the performance!
