VAUDEVILLE AND REVUE.

Taudevtao and revue again held sway at tho Opera House last night, and this present popular form of entertainment was presented before tho usual large and appreciate gathering The fim » Bessie Clifford, a lady with a full quota o energy and vivacity and with & clear Bulging voice. Finally Miss Clifford canio on in an arresting Chinese costume, all hat and streamers, and obliged with another song in keeping with the character. The man also gave a good demonstration of comedy, and novelty dancing. For the accord part tho Con Moreni Company put on the revue "Caught in Cairo." There was a desert setting with tho Nile and the, Pyramids in the background, and agood opening scene representing the ripe of the sun and the call to prayers. Then the Sheik aopeared and the action of the play started. Two dilapidated "Aussie" soldiers entered, slfo two officers of immaculate appearance, and various other parties, including the "Blighty" wife of one of the soldiers who came to Egypt to join her husband without sending him notice beforehand. The tv.'o ao'.diera provided most of tho comedy. One professed to bo a "mental" case, his mania being a search for a bit of paper, and tho other was his fed-up keeper. The Shiek provided the tragedy eminent by attempting to abduct one of the ladies of the party, but Allah deserted him. for he carried off one of the men by mistake. The musical numbers included a comedy version of Oow Bells," by Miss Dolly Yarni, "If Winter Comes," by Miss Winnie Edgerton, "Bedouin Love Song" by Mr Will Kenny, "Send Me a Blue Bird," by Miss Patricia Reid, and "Murray Moon," by Mas Reid and Mr Dan We'.don. Tho chorus girls, well trained in all their work, sang and danced delightfully. Mr Albert Bidgood and his orchestra played tho iincdental music and the accompaniments with theiT customary perfection. The programme will be repeated to-night.
