MEETING OP COMMITTEE.
Dr. "W. H. Simpson presided at a meeting of the connoifctea of the Sports Club lust night.
Mr S. F. Barnett wrote tendering hiß resignation from the committee owing to his inability to attend meetings. The reaignaiion was accepted with regret. A. Alliords wrote enquiring as to the possibility of being matched in Christchurch. He -wa3 prepared to meet any middle-weight in New Zealand-, and suggested a return bout with Eddie Parker. Tne letter was referred to the Competitions Committee. I{. Fitzsimaiona's application for a match with any man under 13st during l July was also referred to th«NCompetitions Committee. , It was decided that in the future the tolg with legardi to- the attendance) of hoxerß for medical examination at least two days beiore tho fight, ehould bo strictly enforced. Stadium, Ltd., wrote stressing the possibilities attending English Park for the holding of boxing contestß. The company had considered the advantages of the pari and were prepared to carry out extensive improvements, the work of which was already well in hand. By the end of August it wes hoped to have seating accommodation for close on 5000 pereons. Tho company was prepared to enter negotiations with the cluh for the purpose of promoting contests on a large B£aje, and the bringing together of competitors of the highest standard of proficiency. Messrs Talbot, Coffey and Merrie were appointed a sub-committee to consider th® proposals.
