LANCASTER PARK BOARD.

MONTHLY MEETING. Tho monthly meeting of the Lancaster Park Board of Control was hold last night. Present—Messrs A. Dey (chairman), W. R. Patrick, R. B. Ward, C. S. McCully, A. E. McPhail, W. Simpson, ana H. H. Wauchop. , The Christchurch Fire Brigade wrote asking tor the tree use, or use on "the lowest possible terms, of Lancaster Park froni March 2nd to 2otn, 1925,.inclusive, for the purpose of tho iSew Zea-and Biennial JUiro .brigades' Demonstration. Tho chairman stated that when tho demonstration was held a, punibcr of, Wei tests would take plaoo, and tor this it would be necessary to lay a water main to ft plug .in the centre of the ground, afid portion of the Park would have to be torn up accordingly. If 80 or 40 teams competed in these wet tests, and tho were turned on and off each time it would do the Park no particular amount of good. It was decided, on the motion of Mr Patrick, Becorided by Mr Ward, Chat the application be refused. It was decided to thank tho St. John Ambulance Association for its action in providing a fltretcbo* for Lancaster It was resolved to allow the Technical "College hockey tenxftti the use of the Lancaster Park hockey ground for one hour every Tuesday afternoon. ■ . A statement of Teceipts and expenditure, wliiph was submitted by the treasurer, allowed & balance of £179 16s lOd. ■
