JUSTICE AND DOLLARS.
THE CHICAGO CHARGES. (by CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION OOriRICHT.) (Sydney "Son" Service.) NEW YORK, June 8. In reply to many newspapers' innuendoes that their millions will be used to sot the boys Nathan Leopold and Richard Loeb free, the fathers of tho boys have published a statement declaring that they will not take advantage of their riches to defeat the ends of justice. They add:— "We have asked a committee of the Chicago Bar Association to select our counsel, and to fix the fees which will tie those usually paid. The medical experts will be engaged under similar conditions. "If tho Courts find that our sons are not mentally responsible, we will give an undertaking to place them where they will no longer be a menace to any community." Among the hundreds of letters received daily at the gaol where the boys aro held the most notable one, addressed to Leopold, Loeb and Company," says:— "You have no cause for worry. You are in a country where justics is measured by wealth. With money and a slick attorney you will get Away. You are as miserable a pair of cut-throats as ever travelled tho Spanish Main. With bag of gold, expert testimony, and a spineless American jury, you will make a mockery of justice."
