-■ 9 5 The monthly meeting of the St. Albans Burgesses' Association vras held last night, Mr W. Thompson presiding. Xho chairman 6tated that the Association was receiving money in the district for the purpose of equipping the children's playground with swings, etc. Tho Acting-Town Cleric wrote stating that the City Council was prepared to pay a, subsidy ot 10s in tho £ on iunds raisca for tho puiposo of equipping the children's playground, providea the money wae spent on appiiances hproved by the City Council. Xh© secretary was authorised to "write to the City Council thanmng it lor its shbsidy. It ivas decided to ■write to the City Council enquiring it any steps had been taken t? have ihe corners at the intersection of Springfield and Holly roads rounded oli. One membsr described the intersection as a death-trap. Mr A. A, Johnson agreed to give a lajitern lecture on his frip from Kow Zealand to Paiestine, the proceeds to go towards the funds of the children's playground. Several members complained of the lateness of the delivery of the morning mfcil. Some stated thai the postman did not arrive until 1 o'clock in the afternoon. It was resolved that the postal authorities be written to usking that the morning delivery be m&do before 12 o'clock.
