LEAP YEAR BALL AT LOBURN.
For a similar function it has been only on rare occasions that such a large and hearty gathering has assembled in the Loburn Coronation Hall for an evening's enjoyment, and until midnight franchise conditions prevailed. Great credit is reflected on the young ladies who, on behalf of the Tennis Club, organised and brought to so successful an issue what proved to be one of the most enjoyable dances held at Loburn. Visitors were present from as far afield as Christchurch, and the neighbouring districts of Eangiora, Oust, Fernside, Southbrook, Flaxton, Woodend, Ashley, Sefton, Okuku, and Whiterock.
The decorations of delightful greenery and toi-toi lent a charm to the ballroom; the floor was in excellent condition, and most appropriate music was supplied by the Ashley Orchestra, while quite a number of acceptable "extras" were given. Mr Uedrie Croft courteously and efficiently carried out the duties of master oi ceremonies.
