Corsiiir Bay. Corsair Bay still maintains its popularity as a week-end hoiiday resort, and every Saturday nnd Sunday many hundreds visit the bay. The water is still remarkably warm, and some leathers remain ill most of the day. Last Sunday sneak thieves were operating ■at the bay. Money, boots, towels, and even shirts were taken irom the men's dressing sheds, while several ladies lost underclothing from the ladies' shed. In one tase suspicion pointed to a well-dressed woman, and she was taxed with having taken articles of fancy underclothing from a fellow-bather who had been in the same dressing-shed. The woman at first denied having taken thp clothes, but when threatened with police intervention she hamded over a parcel containing the missing' articles. Unfortunately for the interest of the general public, the owner, having lecovered her property, was satisfied to allow the matter to drop. Life-Saving and Swimming Instruction. Miss H. Cowley, who is an expert on life-saving and swimming, is coming to the Y.W.C.A. Clubrooiiis, Lyttelton, to-morrow, to teach land-drill (including different methods of release, life-saving, and resuscitation), to any girls who like to feme along to the club rooms from 6 o'clock to 8, o'clock. Miss Cowley will also teach, all 1 those who cannot «wim the correct way to do the various strokes, and if a .sufficient number of those present are interested, arrangements "will lie made for an instructor to come either on Wednesday# or Saturdays to give further i nstruction in life-saving and swimming at Corsair Bay. Harvest Thanksgiving. Hnrvest thanksgiving services were held at the Methodist Church, Lyttelton on Sunday. The church was very prettily decorate ed, and the display of fruit, produce, and flowers was very fine. The morning service was taken by the Rev. Herbert Daniel, and. that in the evening by the Rev. Georgp Bond. Both gentlemen gave appropriate addresses. The choral part of the services was led by the choir under Mra Tere Liv ing&tone. The Rev. George Bond wtts in charge of this circuit during the years 188? to 1890, and, at the close of his address, he» expressed a wish ix> meet all* old acquaintances, their son* and daughters. Many of the large congregafion availed themselves of this opportunity to meet again a beloved , pastor. •*
