MATTHEWS—STEVEN S. Recently a very pretty wedding was solemnised, at the Metnodist Chure l, New Brighton, where Evelyn .Alargaret, second daughter of Mr ana Air J. Stevens, of North Beach, was married to Albert George Matthews, second son of Mr and Mrs J. Matthew s ) of Christchurch. The Rev. F. T. Bead officiated, and Mr Jack Turner, of ALe.bourne, acted as best man. The bride, who was given away" by her father, -wore a picturesque froclc of ivory crepe de chine handsomely trimmed ivitli pearls and panelled with radium lace. Her beautiful veil or soft tullo was held in place a ■wreath of orange blossoms, and sue carried a shower bouquet of white carnations, roses, and maidenhair fern. The bride was attended by the Misses Rosa and Eunice James as bridesmaids. They wore respectively, saxe blue crepe de chine and shell-pink marocain with hats to tone. _ The flower-girls, little Ina anil innie Stevens, sisters of the bride, wore pretty frocks of pink and heliotrope merve satin, and carried little posies of 'flowers to match their frocks. After the ceremony the bride's parents entertained about one hundred guests at the Pier Hall, the bride's mother receiving the guests in a charming frock of oyster-grey marocain beaded in gold. The bridegroom's mother wore a smart navy costume with hat to match. After the reception the happy couple left for their honeymoon, the bridetravelling in a navy blue marocain frock and hat to match. ERASER—WISE. A pretty wedding -was celebrated at the Church of St. Michael and All Angels recently, when Ada Muriel, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs H. T. Wise, of Antigua street, Christchurch, was married to Morton James, second son of Mr James Fraser, of Winton, Southland. The bride, who entered the church on the arm of her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory satin trimmed with crystal beads, with a long train of brocaded marocain ornamented with georgette ruchings, falling from the shoulders. The veil, which wns worn over the face, was held, in place by a circlet of orange-blossom, which had been worn by the bride's mother on the occasion of her marriage. The bride carried a shower bouquet of choioo white flowers and maidenhair fern. In attendance were the bride's sister Miss Stella Wise, and Miss Sylvia Coqmbes. The former, who was chief bridesmaid, wore a frock of lettiicegreen crepe de chine, and carried a shower bouquet of pink flowers, and her cousin, Miss Sylvia Coombes, wore pale pink crepe de chine with heliotrope bouquet. Both were silver shoes and stockings, and black crinoline hats trimmed with flowers and streamers to match their dresses. Mr F. W 7 ildman wns best man, and Mr H. L. Wise, brother of the bride, was groomsman.

The breakfast was held in the Hastings street Hall, which had been decorated with streamers of pink and green. The table was decorated with a wealth of pink carnations and gypsophila, while over the centra table a white floral bell was suspended. The bride's mother, who received the guests, wore navy blue charmante, richly beaded, a grev marabout stole, and a grey hat with apricot flowers. She carried a bouquet of apricot-colour-ed roses.

A dance was held in the evening when an enjoyable time was 'spent by nil present. "When Mr and Mrs Fraser left for thqir wedding trip the bride wore a navy Jblue cqstume embroidered in grey, a smart little navy ha* ivith berries, mole-coloured wrap, anil grey shoes and stockings.
