A yourig Paris electrician, after shooting liifi wife dead, was so determined to ■ commit suicide that fie first shot himself in the chest, inflicting a mortal wound. Then he cut his throat with a razor, and finally hanged himself. He had previously attempted suicide by throwing himself under a motor-car. . Sir James Allen has found a number of suitable boys, and is ascertaining how many are agreeable to migrate to New Zealand. The Commonwealth Government has been notified that the Irish Free State has prohibited the importation of Australian hay and straw in consequence of rinderpest outbreak. Miss Dorothea Jewson, M.P., who set out to walk to Norwich to address constituents rather than uso a train during the rail strike, arrived in Norwich accompanied by Miss Murray, a fellow-trade unionist. They got lilts occasionally, and used motor 'buses, but tramped the muddy roads the rest of tho way.
