Five hundred specimens of mammals, birds, insects and shells ,have arrived at the Natural History Museum from, the Australian expedition under Captain George H. '"Wilkins. They were collected 350 miles inland in Southern Queensland. "Our" present collection of Australian animals is not- a good one but when the work of the expedition is finished we shall have one of the best in,the world," said .Mr Regan, keeper of zoology. "We believe," he added, ."this is our last chance to get creatures which axe threatened with extinction —another generation • may bo too'late:"
