A WINDLESS DAY. . Cfsb3s association telec&ml) AUCKLAND, January 29. The Anniversary Regatta was held in brilliantly fine weather, but tho absence of, wind robbed tho Bailing races of popular interest, the majority of competitors failing to finish. Tho first-class yacht event was won easily by jKaweno, Moaaa being second and Victory third. In the second-class yachts race, Glozaana was fust, "Lady Wilrna second, and Constance third. It wab a good finish. The thirdrclass was won by Speedwell, which was tho only boat to complete • the course, passing the boats in the first and second classes. The one-design event was won by Kyria, Bangi being second and .Queen March third The open speed launch rsco was won by Green Stripe (Wanganui, a single-step hydroplane), irom Misa Auckland and Komanct-
The ajyoca Pussyfoot, vrith a speed of thirty knots, Miss Auckland and XCaromana being second and third respectively. She wins also the handicap race," with iGss Auckland seoono. Shortly alter the finish of the race Pussyfoot filled and' sank in d«cp v water, owing, it is understood, to a, hracltet carrying away and holing, the hull. A lino, wna eectrrcd and the croft towed aßhot©. Tho crew Trero rescued.
