BANK OFFICERS' GUILD.
ANNUAL CONFERENCE. (EBESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) WELLINGTON, January 28. The Executive Council of the New Zealand Bank Officers' Guild, comprising 23 delegates from different parts of the Dominion, met in Wellington for their fifth annual conference.
In moving the adoption of the annual report, the retiring president, Mr C. A. Macdonald (Wellington) referred to' the steady growth of the membership,.' which had reached 2087. -The year had been one of steady progress. The guild now was firmly established, and had; come to be recognised as an integral and valuable part of the banking system of the Dominion. Steady improvement was taking place in the conditions of service in the various banks, for which the Guild could rightly claim a share of the credit. Keference was made to the fact that the banks had taken steps to mti'oriiKe uniformity in their note issues, a matter which, had been brought before them by the Guild. The important matter of endorsements on bills of exchange was being carefully considered by the committee. The president congratulated members on ttie cordial re-
lationship which existed between the Guild and the authorities of the.banks, and epoke with pleasure of the jJregress the Guild had made during the four years oi its existence. Many matters of importance to members of the Guild were discussed by conference, during the sessions. Delegates from <jach of the sis banks discussed various matters of rityitual interest with the executive offi<wrs of their own particular banks. Domestic committees were also elected.
