ANIMAL WELFARE.
TO THE EDITOR OV "THE SBESS." Sir, —A sheepman friend once said he had no time for a fat man and a fat dog on the hills, because they Bou? petered out on a hot day. Kindness to pets which results in over-fatness is misplaced. I did not expect that yon, sir, could tell us what happens to animals in the spirit world, but "N. Royds" in his letter gives us some idea. Occultists say that when we make a companion of a pet we detach that animal from what is called the group soul, and that means a big step up for it. Wanton cruelty to animals will get a hell of a time on the astral. I am not feeling too good over the thousands of rabbits and quail I have shot, and the hundreds of lambs' tails I have detached.—Yours etc., PETER TROLOVE.
